DCS Announces
Leadership Evolution
Wayne Cutrer to retire and remain Chairman of the Board. Zach West named Chief Executive Officer. Effective May 22, 2026.
FRISCO, Texas & LAFAYETTE, Louisiana — May 22, 2026
Downhole Chemical Solutions (DCS), the market leader in completion chemicals technology and pioneers of the DriFlow® dry polymer delivery system, announced a significant milestone in its leadership structure. Co-founder Wayne Cutrer, who has served as CEO since the company’s founding in 2015, will retire and remain Chairman of the Board. Zach West, who has served as President of DCS, has been named Chief Executive Officer.
The transition is effective May 22, 2026, and reflects the natural evolution of a company that has grown from a bold idea into the industry’s most trusted name in slickwater fluid systems — now serving more than 220 employee-owners across multiple U.S. basins.
A Visionary Foundation
Wayne Cutrer co-founded DCS in 2015 with a deceptively simple mandate: focus on one thing and be the absolute best at it. Under his leadership, DCS transformed the oilfield chemical landscape — pioneering the viscosifying friction reducer movement, launching the patented DriFlow system in 2019, and building a fiercely people-first culture that became the company’s greatest competitive advantage.
“Eleven years ago, we set out to de-commoditize the commodity. What we built was so much more than a product — it was a team, a culture, and a mission. I couldn’t be prouder of what DCS has become, and I’m excited to support Zach and this incredible team from the Board as we write the next chapter.”
— Wayne Cutrer, Chairman of the Board, Downhole Chemical Solutions
Engineering Excellence Meets Executive Leadership
Zach West joined DCS as an engineering intern during the company’s founding and rose through the organization as Vice President of Engineering before being named President. His deep technical foundation — grounded in chemistry, engineering, and operational systems — combined with his passion for DCS’s mission and outstanding leadership abilities, make him the natural choice to lead the company into its next era.
“DCS is more than a company to me — it’s a cause. We’ve built something truly rare: a team of passionate people who care deeply about their work, our clients, and each other. My commitment is to honor that foundation while pushing us further than we’ve ever gone before.”
— Zach West, Chief Executive Officer, Downhole Chemical Solutions

As an employee-owned company (ESOP), DCS’s 220 employee-owners remain the driving force behind its continued success — a culture built on transparency, trust, and shared purpose.
